SGT Stephen Crowley is the voice behind BOOTLEG SOULS. A 100% disabled combat veteran with severe PTSD, Crowley has found healing in songwriting, turning pain into music that speaks for every soldier who carried the war home. A veteran of both the Cold War and the War on Terror, he served as an Armor Crewman and earned the Army Commendation Medal in the late 1980's. After 9/11 he reenlisted and deployed to Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom, OIF) in 2005, with the 216th Military Intelligence, Ground Surveillance & Reconnaissance Platoon and was awarded the U.S. Army Combat Action Badge (CAB). His songs are forged from truth—gritty stories of survival, sacrifice, and redemption told through country rock, southern grit, and soul. Raised in North Carolina on outlaw country and southern rock, Crowley writes with raw honesty and unshakable spirit, giving voice to the battles that never end and the resilience that keeps us standing.
